Geminid Meteor Shower 2012

NASA says, every mid-December, astronomers observe the sky and see a natural phenomenon in space. This phenomenon is the Geminid meteor shower which was in its peak on 13-14 December 2012.

As quoted from the website Nasa.gov, Monday (10/12/2012), Though the Geminid meteor shower comes every year, but until now NASA scientists have not fully understood the origins are extraterrestrial objects.

Psy Gangnam Style Goyang 20 Ribu Warga Paris

TEMPO.CO, Paris - Sekitar 20 ribu warga Paris Perancis bergoyang bersama Psy, seniman gaek asal Korea Selatan dengan gaya dan lagunya, Gangnam Style. Psy mengajak warga paris bergoyang bersama setelah dia mengajarkan tari Gangnam Style hanya dalam waktu beberapa menit.

Psy memperagakan goyang naik kudanya di wilayah Trocadero atau tepat di depan lokasi Menara Eiffel, Senin, 5 November 2012. Acara ini disponsori oleh Stasiun Radio Perancis NRJ. Dalam kerumunan besar itu, tampak hampir seluruh warga bergoyang. Namun ada pula sebagian kecil yang memilih untuk mengambil gambar.

Beberapa pengamat di Perancis tidak heran dengan keberhasilan Psy mengajak 20 ribu warga Perancis bergoyang. Sebab, lagu Gangnam Style sedang menjadi tren di Eropa dan bahkan menjadi salah satu single terpopuler di tangga lagu Perancis. 

Lebih menakjubkan lagi, selama melakukan tur Amerika-Eropa ini, Psy selalu menggunakan pesawat jet pribadi. Senin lalu, dia baru saja melakukan tur di Las Vegas dan langsung berangkat dari sana menuju Paris. Rencananya, Psy juga akan melakukan tur dan mengajarkan tari Gangnam Style di Inggris dan Jerman.

Psy, kependekan dari Psycho, adalah tokoh sensasional di Korea Selatan. Dia penyanyi yang tidak tampan jika dibandingkan para personel boyband. Bahkan, pernah kena kasus kepemilikan ganja dan menolak wajib militer.

Namanya mendunia hanya dalam hitungan dua bulan. Penyebabnya adalah Gangnam Style. Single pertama dari album keenam penyanyi bernama lengkap Park Jae Sung itu disukai dunia. Setidaknya, jejaring sosial YouTube sudah membuktikan dengan meraih pengunjung 130 juta dalam 2 bulan peluncuran. Angka yang fantastik, bahkan dibandingkan dengan Justin Bieber, penyanyi pop sensasional asal Kanada.

Psy bukanlah anak baru di industri musik. Album pertamanya sempat dikritik habis-habisan karena mengandung lirik yang tidak pantas. Lalu, album keduanya dilarang beredar. Tapi untuk soal musik, Psy sangat serius, baik dari album maupun pendidikan. Ia adalah alumnus Universitas Boston dan Berklee College of Music.

Psy menikmati semua kesuksesan setelah reputasinya jatuh-bangun, yang bermula dari tuduhan ganja pada 2001. Ia sudah meneken kontrak dengan Island Def Jam, label rekaman yang juga mengatur jadwal idola pop dunia, Justin Bieber. Muncul di sejumlah acara televisi di Amerika dan siap-siap rekaman lagu di Amerika.

Meteor at california

A streaking fireball lit up California skies and stunned stargazers Wednesday night, and professional observers say more meteors are on the way.

The exploding streak was visible over the San Francisco Bay area and other parts of Northern California, and there were also reports of a loud boom.

"It looked like a plane crash or rocket," said Philip Terzian, an amateur astronomer who happened to photograph the meteor while atop a ridge around Palo Alto.

Terzian had gathered there with a group of other astronomy enthusiasts. The group had not met in some time and just happened to be there for the meteor. Other observers described the streak as crescent shaped, and reddish orange in color. Read More Meteor Shower At California.
